Dr. Tsao was a postdoctoral fellow working with Dr. Patricia K. Kuhl, and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education, National Taipei Teachers College, Taipei, Taiwan. His research interests include the effect of language experience on adults' speech perception; infant speech-perception development; acoustic characteristics of infant-directed speech; and the effects of infant-directed speech on speech perception and language learning. In his current work, he is exploring whether speech-perception in infancy is related to other language abilities (e.g., hearing sensitivity and babbling) and is predictive of subsequent language development before 36 months of age.
