Dr. Liu was a postdoctoral fellow working with Dr. Patricia K. Kuhl, and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Special Education, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Liu's research interests include infant speech perception and child language acquisition. She is considering how the quality of adult language input might facilitate infant speech- and language-learning. In her current work, she is examining the detailed acoustic-phonetic characteristics of infant-directed speech and exploring the link between the characteristics of mothers' infant-directed speech and their infants' early speech perception abilities and later language development.
