I-LABS researcher Lisa Akiyama received an award for MEG research at the 27th Annual Meeting of JAPAN Biomagenetism and Bioelectromagnetics Society in Tokyo, Japan.
She was recognized with an honorable mention in the "Under 35" category for research titled "Age-Specific Average Head Templates for 6 Month and 12 Month Old Infants". Head models represent the average of MRI data from hundreds of children to create detailed anatomical brain maps at 6- and 12-months of age. The results will be key to I-LABS' MEG studies with infants, as well as to researchers around the world.
